You can search your news items from the toolbar. You can search all news items or just the selected subscriptions.
Note: If the search field isn’t in your toolbar, choose View > Customize Toolbar… to add it. 
How to search:
Type what you want to search for into the search field. You don’t need to hit return—searching is automatic.
Search results include a special column which shows how relevant each match is. Longer bars mean better matches.
How to search only selected subscriptions:
When you search, you are searching news items in all your subscriptions. Instead you can search just the subscriptions you have selected in the subscriptions pane.
Click in the search field menu (in the down-pointing triangle) and choose Selected Subscriptions.
To get back to searching all subscriptions, choose All Subscriptions from the search field menu.
