When you want to post something to your weblog, choose News > Post to Weblog to send it to your preferred weblog editor.
What happened to NetNewsWire’s built-in weblog editor?
We split it out into an application named MarsEdit which was subsequently sold to Red-Sweater software. It has many more features than the weblog editor that used to be built-in to NetNewsWire.
The post-to-weblog command works with MarsEdit and with other desktop editors such as ecto and Xjournal.
How to get set up
-
Make sure you have a weblog editor and it’s set up and working.
-
In NetNewsWire, choose NetNewsWire > Preferences. Click the Posting icon.
-
If the popup menu doesn’t already have your weblog editor selected, choose Other… from the popup menu to choose your weblog editor.
How to post an item
-
In NetNewsWire, find a news item or web page you’d like to post to your weblog.
-
Choose News > Post to Weblog.
-
Your weblog editor should open a window with that post ready for editing.
Tip: there’s a Post to Weblog toolbar command. If it’s not in your toolbar, and you’d like to add it, choose View > Customize Toolbar…
